For a long time, my work lived primarily in the world of food and product photography. I was drawn to the control, the pacing, and the intention behind commercial work. I was selective, often turning down projects because I was deeply focused on personal work and long-term creative projects. Photography wasn’t just a service to me; it was something I wanted to protect.
Over the past few years people kept asking.
Friends, past clients, and people discovering my work online began reaching out, asking if I photographed weddings, portraits, and personal stories. Many of these requests came from Athens, Georgia, and increasingly from Atlanta, as my work started reaching a broader audience. For a long time, I said no. Not because I wasn’t interested, but because I wasn’t ready to shift my focus.
Adding wedding photography and portrait photography to my work isn’t about leaving behind commercial projects. It’s about allowing my photography to evolve naturally. The same approach I bring to food and product work attention to light, composition, and storytelling, translates seamlessly into photographing people and real moments.
Whether I’m photographing a couple on their wedding day, a family in a quiet moment, or an individual portrait, I’m focused on creating images that feel honest and unforced. I’m not interested in trends. I care about photographs that feel lived-in, timeless, and grounded in reality.
This is especially true in the way I approach weddings. Being based in Athens and the Atlanta area, to me, wedding photography is less about spectacle and more about awareness, being present, anticipating moments, and documenting the day as it unfolds. Portrait photography works the same way. It’s built on trust, patience, and giving people space to be themselves.
I’m also a filmmaker, and that continues to inform how I see.
Film has shaped my sense of pacing, narrative, and restraint. I’ll continue taking on select film projects, but my primary focus moving forward is photography. It’s where I feel most connected to the work right now, and where I feel I can offer the most to the people I collaborate with.
This transition didn’t happen overnight.
For years, I intentionally kept my client work limited so I could focus on personal projects and creative exploration. Being selective helped shape my voice and refine how I work. Stepping into portrait and wedding photography isn’t a departure from that, it’s an extension of it.
I’m now actively booking weddings, portraits, and select commercial projects in Athens, Atlanta, and throughout the Southeast and Northeast Georgia. I work best with clients who value intention, trust the process, and care more about meaning than a trend.
If you’ve followed my work for a while, this shift may feel natural. If you’re new here, welcome. My photography is shaped by years of restraint, observation, and storytelling, focused on creating images that last beyond the moment they’re made.
I’m grateful for the path that led me here, and excited for what comes next.
